Background:
He has little will to participate in the general flow of the society he was in and getting a job. Thus, he had spent a few years on unemployment benefits. However, he romanticises the more primeval survival of the fittest conditions and has the will to get stronger and was consequently allured by warfare and military training. He eventually applied for the military and was qualified for the Special Forces. He thought that with his life there, he would have a little less to gripe about. He was getting fed along with getting trained to be fitter. Furthermore, he secretly likes being regimented and given directions. He was getting tired of being lost while living life filled largely by feeling irritated.

When Dewey shortly became aware of an opportunity to partake in the D.A.M.M.E.D project, he leaped at it as a greater chance to become stronger.
